Men,

Saint Paul asked the Hebrews, “In your struggle against sin, have you yet resisted to the point of shedding blood?”  Today we celebrate the feast day of someone who did just that.  Father Isaac Jogues spent his life for the evangelization of our nation.  Captured by the Iroquois, spent a year of his life in extreme torture.  He responded to his tortures by offering baptism and the corporeal works of mercy.  After his release from the Iroquois, Father Jogues was so intent on bringing the light of Christ to America that he requested to return and was martyred on October 18, 1646.  Men, are we willing to fight for the Church with the same fervor as Father Isaac Jogues!?
